First off, I’m going to start with some random news before we get to the real post…
So last night, I went to have a group meeting with my classmates for our project that’s going to be due at the end of the quarter… We met at Norms for dinner along with the conference. I had a milkshake, club sandwich, and fries… which ended up being a bad idea… I paid for it this morning. I thought it was entertaining enough that I wrote down what I wanted to say on my notepad in case I forgot. Here it is:
7:30am – “I usually just have a belt on as an accessory to the outfit, but today the belt is being put to use as moral support to the top button of my pants for doing an extensive job of keeping it together… Go top button!!”
Anyways, on to the actual post… I received a letter that came in a package that I didn’t quite recognize. I can’t even begin to express how much joy this brought me. Let’s move on!
PlayMe: Love this song!

A package from Amy from Australia!! The little extra details that she put on there was totally noticed and appreciated!

Inside the package was a wooden mail plane engraved with a message that will keep reminding me to follow my dreams of traveling! Don’t worry Amy, I’ll make my way to come visit… someday!

She even included this pack of temporary tattoos so I can celebrate Australia day on Jan. 26th. Expect a post on that day for sure!
I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Amy… the biggest sweetheart!!
That’s all for now… I have to get packing and get some rest for my trip back home.

As I’m sure all of you have heard it before, but I’m going to say it anyways… Merry Christmas everyone!
The busy weekend continues!! Just a quick update/check-in with all of you…
PlayMe: Born to dieeee

I didn’t realize until this morning that I’ve hit my 100th post! Woot wooooot! Celebration time! /POP!/ And there goes the Chardonnay bottle.
OK bye.

Gahhh… so the year is coming to an end! Through all the good and the bad that’s happened this year, I’m thankful for it all. I mean, isn’t that what life is all about? Experiencing everything? I’m honestly excited about this upcoming year as I feel like it’s going to be one for the books. On my iPhone is already a list of my new year resolutions, but the list is going to have to be revised and reproofed before I can publish it via life. I’ll be sure to share it with all of you once I’m satisfied with it, or until I run out of time… whichever comes first.
Anyways, Christmas is around the corner and I wish everyone an awesome holiday! I have a busy weekend ahead of me so hopefully I’ll be able to check in again somewhere in between.
PlayMe: Yes… totally the mood right now.

And I have every intentions of using the shit outta this thing come 2012… Oops, did I just give away one of my new year resolutions?? Damnit…
Ok good night.

Today is going to be a full on in-bed kinda day. The weather is crappy outside and nothing makes me happier right now than to be wrapped in my blankets watching a movie with a cup of coffee in my hand… Blogging from my phone included.
Here’s a recap of my suicide trip!

Ready for take off! Red eye flight.

I only like flying on Virgin America.

Touch down via NorCal! I still couldn’t believe I was here.

I never get tired of seeing this.

Justina came to pick me up from SFO and brought me to this super hip fine dining place. I forgot to grab a business card from them, so I don’t remember what the place was called but it was DELICIOUS!! Our waitress was kinda odd in a real eerie awesome kinda way. Anyways, I ordered this drink called the quintessential and it was legit. Cheers!

They brought us this on the house. It’s basically a real fancy version of peanut butter on slices of apple. 2 slices to be exact.

Freedom fries with aioli sauce. Fancyyy.

I ordered the Pruchetta and it was AMAZING! As guilty as I was to have it because it was basically 2 slices of fat slabs, I couldn’t care enough to stop myself… It was more like “well f*ck, let’s get it then!”

So aside from going to a nice dinner, I also received this awesome gift… I was speechless and couldn’t even sum up the right words to show my appreciation. Thank you for dinner and the gift Justina!! My favorite!!!

This is my first time at Bob’s donut and of course I had to be there at 3am. Their apple fritters are fantastical!

I made the horrible choice of getting a carton of milk (I’m lactose intolerant) but at 3am, it seemed like a really good choice…

The following morning, we went to get brunch and I’ve never been to Outerlands before so that’s where we ended up.

Soup and grilled cheese so good!

I just signed up for vision coverage at work so I think I’m gonna get me some glasses for reading.

The beginning of my caffeine day. Death charge, please!

This store next to Trouble coffee is pretty cool.

Then we took off to Valencia to bop around for awhile. I have such a new found love for SF…

First time trying Anthony’s cookies!! zOMG… So good!

It’s like heaven in little circles.

Ordering more coffee from Four Barrel Coffee.

Hello, my name is Mike and I’m a coffee addict.

J.Frey had to take off to work so I met up with my throne crew for 5 guys burgers before heading to the show.

Watch The Throne!!! OTIS!!! “I guess I got my swagger back… TROOF!”

“Something wrong. I hold my head. MJ gone… Ahhh n*gga dead”

I got 99 donuts but a bitch ate one!
You are very good to me in the morning. I appreciate you.
Love,
Mike

I don’t know who or what exactly has spiked me with an unexplainable force of creativity lately, but I’m thankful that its here. Yet again, I don’t quite know how to explain it, but I feel my outtake on life has been revised once more… one more step towards my perfect vision of existence in this world. Inspired by multiple people in my life lately, I am going to cast away my fears of leaving what many call a “safety zone”, and I am going to see the world one piece at a time. I will bring my soul, hopes & dreams, and camera to see what else this world has to offer. Today marks the day I officially start planning my requirements and route for my first destination, but in the mean time… I’ve decided to pick up my beloved camera once again and let this new found creativity state take over. Enjoy.
PlayMe: “Don’t kick the chaaaairrrrrr… it’s gonna get better!”

Good morning! This is pretty much how I usually start my weekends… I just lay in bed for a while and just kinda enjoy the quiet stand-still of it all. Oh, and of course it never hurts to have a bit of music too.

Peeked out the window today and saw that it looked to be a pretty decent day, so I headed out to the park. Best choice I’ve made all day. 68 degrees of beautiful SoCal weather… I just hung out there for a little while and did some people watching and sun soaking.
Note to self: pack coffee.

SoCal sun!
Dedicated to: JFrey – I know I’ve been sending you a bunch of morning sun photos, but here’s one of my finest.

“Take my crown to the grave… I’m an underground king.”

Finally made my way home and made some breakfast… Fairly simple, nothing complicated.

What I honestly look forward to on my weekend mornings… A glorious moment at first sip.

The only constructive thing I’ve done today… Stickerbombed my bag and ironed them shut.
Well that’s pretty much all for now. I’ll keep the photos coming as the vision keep rolling in…

12092011 (Mundane)
So I’ve recently decided to start blogging from my phone as well as from my computer. I figured my iPhone takes some pretty decent photos so this is going to be my gateway to communicate with the world a little more often.
Here is my mundane Friday…
That’s all for now.

12032011 (A Day with an Aussie)
As mentioned in my previous post… Brandon’s cousin, Amy, came to visit. Apparently she’s been traveling the world this past year and SoCal was her final stop before the trip back home, so I had to do my best to make it worth while for her. Btw, did I mention that she’s from Australia?? DAT accent… /passout…/
On a separate note though, she may possibly be one of the most awesome people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Definitely a major highlight and a great way to end my year!
Anyways, I spent a day with Amy which included a road trip to San Diego… Let’s do this, shall we?
PlayMe: Bad seeds
***8:35 am***

Did a bit of research for coffee and found Urth. Bomb.com coffee…
***9:28 am***

Made a quick stop to Griffith Observatory so Amy can check out the skyline view of Los Angeles.

Can’t leave LA without a shot of the Hollywood sign… It’s the only proof that you’ll be able to provide to show you were here!
***11:47 am***

Breakfast at Hash House A Go Go in San Diego. Totally amazed by the size… she says to me “you Americans…”
*** 1:26 pm***

I was looking for things to do in SD and found Balboa Park which had a bunch of museums and what not. Someone’s excited to go to the botanical house. It was strangely quiet in there because apparently plants don’t like noise…. reallyyy?? seriously??
***3:11 pm***
We actually went to Coronado Beach after this, but no photos were taken and also the weather was real crap… so we’re just going to go ahead and skip to the next time mark.
*** 4:23 pm***

Stopped off at Neighborhood to have a glass of beer and continue our never ending conversations.

The waitress was super nice and hooked us up with a bunch of dipping sauce to go with our sweet potato fries. The jalapeno (deep orange) one was amazinggg!
*** 6:03 pm***

This was pretty much the highlight of the entire day. I found this place called Vin De Syrah Spirit & Wine Parlor and basically it’s like this underground upscale lounge. It really is quite interesting… This is the stairway down because it literally is… underground.

Check out that entrance… it’s in a fxckin wall of grass! Camo much?? I can bet that if you came here drunk already, you’d never find your way in.

What’s a wine and cheese parlor without some cheese?? “Oh it was marvelous darling, just marvelous!” (English accent)

Why does she keep out-drinking me?!?? I don’t understand… she’s like 5ft nothing!
***11:36 pm***

On the way out, we randomly ran into this guy with a Magnum mustache who told us that we could have free mustache t-shirts… how could we say no?? So we wandered down to yet… another underground bar where he had this hot press machine that seals your custom made t-shirt. Random? I’d say yes… “I mustache you a question!!”

Our mustache t-shirts! Great effin’ night…….
“Open your eyes!”
“They ARE open! Shut the fxck up!”
That pretty much concludes the night before we headed back into Hollywood with a 2.5 hour drive… which we actually had quite an interesting misunderstanding that led to this 2 hour epic debate, hahaha.
***Misc Photos***

On Amy’s last night, her final request was to have an In-N-Out burger as a last meal. Check out this little fatty… “America… FXCK YEAH!”
We were also trying to make our way back up to the Griffith Observatory for a night view of the city, but park rangers closed off the road due to high winds that broke a bunch of trees the night before. So… we just ended up sitting on someone’s real nice stairway and made a mess. Still a great view though!

Oh yeah, and she bought me a pack of these…
She is literally the first and only person in this world that has successfully made me take these. Amazing I tell you… just amazing.
And you thought that was the end of the photos… I thought you’d know me by now.
***iPhone BTS pics!!***

On her first night in, I brought her to Father’s Office for what may possibly be the best burger in LA. It wasn’t until afterwards that she tells me “I don’t eat much meat…”

At Hash House handling her meal.
“The name of this place is nothing what it seems…”

First glass of wine at Vin De Syrah Spirit & Wine Parlor.

This might be about the 3rd glass… I also vaguely remember an extensive conversation about Thailand and evolution.

Night #3, we drove to Westminster because I wanted her to try the spring rolls from Brodards.
She’s actually quite handy. Food bouquet! No one’s ever told her not to play with her food hahaha… seriously.

Our last drink before she hops on her red eye flight back to Australia. It kinda looks like she’s digging into a giant shake… which by her understanding, is how Americans roll. Errrrrythang big.
Goodbye for now Amy!!! I’m glad you made it home safely!
And that pretty much concludes this post.
Deezy. Out.
12032011 (Home sweet home!!)
For the past 2 weeks or so, things have gotten so hectic and busy that I’m only now finally getting a chance to sit down and catch a breather. I’m totally veggin’ out today with some coffee and photos and here we are. Blog post! I know you all love it…
Anyways, I went home for the holidays to reunite with friends and family and it was most definitely a joyous occasion. It always warms my heart to see everyone. I know it’s strange to say, but sometimes I feel like I don’t want to move back home so I can retain this feeling of familiar unity whenever I come back to visit. We shall see… won’t we…
Enough of the chatter, on to the pictorals!
PlayMe: Home sweet hoommmeeeeeee

I’m on my wayyy… I’m on my wayyyy… Home sweet home!

Brunch time win with the bestfriend (TKB) x Gilbert x Bryan x Brandon in Burlingame. Oh how I do love eggs.

The cousins. You guys are awesome!

So me and the crew went to do a little sight seeing since Brandon’s cousin was in town. Found this awesome photo op spot and totally took advantage of it. /Ahem…/ yes, someone missed the memo. Fuggin’ B!! Still my dude! Hahahaha

I love it so much, I’m about to lose it one time… My city, my heart, my soul.

Tourist status one time… if only that one dude wasn’t diggin butt in the background… /facepalm/

My first time… actually almost all of our first time eating at Calzone’s Pizza Cucina. I know everyone’s passed it once in their life on the way to Chinatown. Delicious!

Chicken Pesto Calzone. I love pesto…
For some reason, I don’t seem to take as many photos as I used to anymore and this is pretty much where my pictures end. I’m going to try to change that for my next trip…
Psyche!
iPhone BTS pics… LET’S GO!!

Woke up at the buttcrack of dawn on Tanksgiving day to pick these up before heading back home.

On my way back up, I spotted these guys hauling their fixes. I roll up next to them and asked where they were going. They said SF bound! I said FUCK YEAH!!! Hope you boys had a good trip!

2:30am night ride with B. It was a beautiful Thanksgiving night.

Sunset, but not in the Sunset.

I gave a real fucked up history lesson of Sutro Baths… DAT plague!

I honestly don’t think it gets any better than this.

Alright people… keep it moving!

Looks like everyone went home for the holidays.

People watching at its finest.

Brandon x Bryan x Amy x Kwok x Me… The gang’s all here.

MAGGOT! MAGGOT! MAGGOT!
For those who don’t know the term Maggot: It’s the Australian equivalency of getting shit faced/hammered/smashed/or as my good friend, Netto, would put it… “white boy wasted”. Oh and believe me, we got FUCKIN MAGGOT that night!

They kept coming, and we kept going.

It got fancy real fast one time! No one’s calling “Cavalo” on me this time!
Background Story: During this night and I will do my best to recite this, me and da boys were initiated into the Cavalo Club by Amy. We would present a coin to her before knowing what the terms were of this club. After we would present our coins, she would tell us what the rules of being in this club were. And here we go…
There are only 2 rules to being a member of the Cavalo club.
#1. You may choose to leave the Cavalo Club anytime you wish, but the only way to be extracted from this lifetime club is one must find and present the very same coin that initiated you to begin with to the person who brought you in. (WHAT THE FUCK?!)
#2. If you are right handed, you must drink with your left and vice versa. If you drink your alcoholic beverage with the wrong hand and a member of the Cavalo Club calls “Cavalo” on you, you will have 2 choices. (1.) Buy a round of drinks for your party or (2.) DOWN the drink the you currently have.
I got maggot. That is all.

The mojito that mowed me and Brandon down… son of a bitch.

My first bacon wrapped hotdog from a cart on the street! It was delicious in all its gloryyyy!

Me and B making one last ride together before me taking off back to SoCal.

Couldn’t leave without having some coffee with my coffee buddy!

I can’t get over this photo… Hipster central.

B intro’d me to this before I left. It’s supposedly this detox drank that you need an ID to buy. It’s fantastical!!
That’s all for my trip home!
Deezy. Out!
